That week went by fast
This week has flown by, and yet there is still so much more left to do. I wasn’t able to sleep for some reason last night so I’ve been up since 7 studying for my Managerial Accounting Exam. This marks the beginning of what I guess midterm weeks, as I have one today, three next week and one the week after. I’m doing allright, a little sleep deprived and stressed but nothing other than the usual. Campaign season for UGBC is in effect and t-shirts are out, fliers and banners are up and tensions are high. There are seven teams running this year and it should prove to be an interesting race without a doubt. There certainly are some interesting teams and really anything can happen. In other news, Duke and UNC played on Wednesday night with Duke coming out on top. I took so much shit from so many people who love to hate on me and Duke so I took great pleasure in watching their victory over UNC. Sure, they aren’t a conventional team but they can win, and not all teams who can win are necessarily conventional. They seem to close games a lot better than they have in the past, and there really isn’t a panic button like there was last year. Their only loss came in an Overtime defeat to Pittsburgh with a nailbiting finish, so they definitely have nothing to be ashamed of as of yet. Probably the highlight of my week was the List-serv 2008. On Tuesday night a student sent out an email asking if anyone had a sublet for her boyfriend for next year and she sent it to a bunch of list-servs. Most of them were from classes but also some random other ones as well. Unfortunately, some of those random other ones had over 1,000 people on the listserv, which did not bode well. Initially, nobody responded, but when people began to respond they would hit reply all and it would be sent to all the people on all of those list servs. If you were on multiple ones they you received it multiple times. Nobody responded for like a day and then some girl decided to respond saying she knew of someone who had an opening, then another girl responded saying there was no opening and then all hell broke loss. It was one of the funniest exchanges I’ve ever been a part of, as I had over 600 emails in my inbox in the span of a few hours. People were saying the most random and ridiculous things. By the way, the girl wanted to get a sublet for her boyfriend for a week out of every month with broadband wireless access, as he was a mortgage broker from D.C….Anyway, I’m studying for my Exam and doing nothing positive, I guess I work for the weekend though..right?
